When you text our WhatsApp number, we receive your phone number, your WhatsApp profile name and the contents of your messages. We use this to run the game — routing your answers, tracking your score within a session, and sending you the game's responses. Your display name and answers are shown to the other players in your session during reveals and in the game summary.
We process your data to provide the game you asked to play (performance of a contract) and, for product improvement, on the basis of our legitimate interests.
By texting the PlayRevel WhatsApp number, you are opting in to receive WhatsApp messages from PlayRevel as part of your game session. This includes game questions, results, your final summary, and any support messages. You can opt out at any time by texting STOP to the same number. We will not send you unsolicited marketing messages.
We use Wati to deliver WhatsApp messages (via Meta's WhatsApp Business API), an AI model provider to generate the host's questions and commentary from your answers, Stripe for payment processing, and Supabase for session data storage. Each has their own privacy policy governing how they handle data. Some of these providers process data outside the UK; where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Addendum.
Session data is retained for up to 30 days after your game ends, then deleted. Your phone number may be retained in our system for up to 90 days for support purposes.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete the data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, email us at play@playrevel.co.uk and we will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
